Who uses Time Card, and who shouldn't
- Nannies and babysitters
- Log each day for each family, see what they owe this week, send a PDF that shows exact arrival and finish times.
- Cleaners, tutors and freelancers paid by the hour
- A different rate per client, hours turned into an invoice with GST or tax ID, a record of what has been paid.
- Casual and hourly employees
- Your own record of start, finish and breaks to check against your payslip or paycheck, and a PDF timesheet to send your boss.
- Subcontractors paid by the hour
- Daily hours against the builder or client, then an invoice with ABN and GST at the end of the week.
- Not a fit
- Employers who need staff clock-in, rosters, approvals or payroll. Those jobs belong to team apps such as Connecteam, Deputy or Clockify.
3 steps from a shift to a PDF
- Tap a day and set Start, Finish and Break on the wheels. An empty day opens with your usual shift already filled in, so most days are one tap.
- The week adds itself up: paid hours after breaks, and gross pay at your rate. Add a second client with a different rate if you need one.
- Turn the week into a PDF timesheet or invoice and share it from your phone. Pro can record the payment when it lands.
What you get
- Start, finish and break per day, entered to the minute on wheels; copy a day or repeat last week
- Paid hours and gross pay for the week; overtime and penalty rates are not calculated
- Overnight shifts and daylight-saving changes handled
- PDF timesheet or invoice from any week, with GST, ABN or tax ID, invoice number and payment terms
- Two active clients free; Pro adds unlimited clients, each with its own rate and currency
- Money tab: earned, still to invoice, and owed (Pro records payments)
- Works offline, no account, data stays on your device
- iPhone and iPad; English, Spanish and German
Free to use. Pro is optional.

Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, in your Apple ID settings. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and can differ by country.

About Time Card
Does Time Card work offline?
Yes. Logging hours, working out pay and making a PDF all happen on the device. The only things that use the internet are optional anonymous usage analytics, which you can turn off in Settings, and crash reports.
Do I need an account, and where is my data?
No account is needed. Your timesheets, clients and invoices are stored on your device. The app sends anonymous usage analytics, which you can turn off in Settings, and crash reports. The privacy policy lists exactly what is sent.
Is there a one-time purchase, or is it subscription only?
Both. Pro is US$19.99 (A$19.99) once for lifetime, or US$0.99 a month, or US$6.99 a year after a one-week free trial. The free plan has no time limit.
Is it free?
Time logging with no day limit, weekly totals, two active clients and standard PDF timesheets and invoices are free. Pro is optional, and the app shows the price before you buy.
Who is Time Card for?
People paid by the hour whose hours change from week to week: nannies, cleaners, tutors, casual workers and freelancers with a few clients. It is a personal record, not staff, roster or payroll software.
Is Time Card the same app as Timesheet Pro?
Yes. Timesheet Pro was renamed Time Card in version 2.2.1. It is the same app on the same App Store listing, so updating keeps your timesheets, clients and invoices.
How fast is logging a day?
Tap a day, set Start, Finish and Break on the wheels, then tap Done. An empty day opens with your usual shift filled in, and you can copy a day to other days or repeat last week.
Does it handle unpaid breaks and overnight shifts?
Yes. Breaks are taken off your hours, and overnight shifts are worked out correctly, including across daylight-saving changes. Times are entered to the minute, with no automatic rounding.
Can I use it to check my payslip or paycheck?
Yes. Enter your actual start, finish and breaks every shift and compare the week's paid hours and gross pay with your payslip. It shows hours times your rate; it does not apply overtime, penalty rates or tax, so treat it as a cross-check.
Can I track hours for more than one client?
Yes. Two active clients are free. Pro adds unlimited clients, each with its own hourly rate and currency.
Can I send my client an invoice?
Yes. Turn any week into a standard PDF invoice with your business name, ABN or tax ID, GST if you charge it, an invoice number and payment terms, and share it from your iPhone or iPad. Pro adds more invoice designs and lets you record payments and see what is still owed.
What is the difference between Time Card and Record My Hours?
Record My Hours is the Fair Work Ombudsman's free app for Australian employees to keep a record of their hours. Time Card is a personal time card that also works out pay and makes invoices, so it suits contractors and people with several clients as well as employees. Our comparison page sets out when each one fits.
Does it work in my country?
It works with US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars, pounds, euros and other supported currencies, and the app is in English, Spanish and German. Invoices can include GST.
Does it work out my take-home pay or tax?
No. It shows your gross pay, which is your hours times your rate, and Pro adds an estimate of how much to set aside for tax. It isn't tax filing or payroll, and it doesn't collect payments: you record them yourself.
